Few have been “Riding the Wave" for 20+ years so this award-winning design is currently owned by only the founding members of Salesforce.

I created a series of renderings, exploring how we can utilize materials and design to continue to evolve this program for milestone years, making each one a little more special than the last. I was responsible for all art direction and design from concept through completion and worked closely with the manufacturer, creating a handful of prototypes, to ensure we got every detail just right.

Equality is a core value at Salesforce, and has always been a core value of mine as well, so I view these as passion projects.

When our Chief Equality Officer, Tony Prophet, was hired at Salesforce, I enthusiastically volunteered to create a visual identity for the Equality brand. Since creating this logo in 2016, Equality, now synonymous with Salesforce, has become engrained in company culture. We continue to partner with with our marketing team to create unforgettable campaigns and tell many inspiring stories.

This completely custom limited run package was part of our 2015 Great Place to Work Submission. I was involved from soup to nuts. I can’t even tell you how many leather strap samples I inspected to find just the right color!

The book inside is filled with stories about our culture, paired with employee testimonials. When leadership viewed these books for the first time at company kickoff, it was quickly decided that they needed to be in every lobby worldwide–a true benchmark for a successful campaign.

For this pro-bono design project, I developed three identity systems, focusing on responsive logos. Lots of sketches and hand drawn type, cleaned up in Illustrator, made this a fun one.

Through education, athletics, mentorship and intervention, the Downtown Boxing Gym empowers Detroit students to be positive and productive members of society by providing them with 100% free programs.

When I began developing branding options for Little Ohana, I was a new father; creating a logo for a child care center was right up my alley and a project I took on with excitement.

The sketch you see here was from an idea I woke up with at 2 am. Not wanting to wake my toddler and wife by turning on the lights, I went into the living room to put my idea on paper by candlelight — fun, circular, shapes that represented rainbows and colors that would make my own kid smile, while also playing off the interior design of the physical play space.

Camp B-Well is the destination for benefits, resources, and support that help employees and their families live well every day, in every way.

My team and I considered hundreds of names before landing on Camp B-Well, and when we realized we could play off of “bee well” and put Astro in a bee costume, it was a no-brainer. The main shield logo was created by one of the talented designers on my team and I created all of the other pieces in the identity system. In the campaigns below, I was responsible for creative and art direction, along with much of the design as well.

Hand drawn type? Lots of bright colors? Advocating for the LGBTQ community? Count me in!

A core value of mine is to lead by example and be an ally whenever possible, to stand up and support a group or individual from an underrepresented, marginalized, or disenfranchised group with which I don’t personally identify. For the last three years I’ve looked forward to contributing a design for these limited edition posters.

I married into a family of Filipinos, some of the most wonderful and hospitable people I’ve ever known, so when I had the opportunity to take the creative lead for their Filipino ohana group, I jumped at the chance.

Utilizing the sun and star elements from the National Flag of the Philippines, along with its colors, I created a unique, balanced design that received great feedback. I can’t lie, almost every time I wear mine, someone asks where I got it.

Since 2011, I've been the sole CD/ AD/ designer for our Riding the Wave project, utilizing my background in packaging design and picking up new skills, working with new materials along the way.

I’ve built a special partnership with the manufacturer, creating countless prototypes of the surfboards, lapel pin variations that come with the 10+ year awards, insert cards, and packaging with specialty printing techniques to make this a unique experience for the employees and ensure we got every detail just right. I still smile every time I see someone excitedly post one of their surfboards on social media.

When the Equality team tasked the team I was leading with designing an Equality Ally badge, I knew it was going to be one a special project, but I never could have imagined the life it would take on.

Below are just a handful of examples of ways the Equality Ally badge I designed has surfaced throughout the company. Some are campaigns I art directed and some are campaigns in which my team partnered with our talented colleagues in marketing.

Once employees have been at Salesforce for 10 years, they not only get one of those cool surfboards you may have seen, but they also become a Koa Club member.

I’ve seen this program through a number of brand revisions since it came to fruition in 2014 when I created the initial branding. I must say, this event gets better each year and there’s no shortage of creative opportunities in this two-day reunion with events including a black-tie gala, town halls with company leaders, hands-on volunteer opportunities, off-site excursions and lots of swag.

This year, my personal highlight was creating over a dozen graphics to be displayed on the jumbotron in center field of Oracle Park. I’ve done plenty of billboards in my days; but standing out there on that iconic center field, looking up at my work on on that humongous display was something else.

Transparency was our theme around this Great Place to Work submission and we really ran with that: transparent it was, inside and out, down to the clear chapter divider pages in the book.

Working closely with a couple seasoned trade craftspersons, we were able to bring this unique vision to life. The box was complete with a snug side compartment to house the book, a video player (with debossed controls) which automatically played a message from our SVP when the lid was lifted, and an iPhone loaded with additional content.

Aloha Ambassadors are passionate employees that bleed Salesforce blue and have a proven track record of success at the company.

They help immerse new hires in our culture and instill our values in people joining our rapidly growing Ohana. They are an integral part of the success of both our Day 1 and Becoming Salesforce new-hire events, welcoming people as they arrive, presenting stories about their experience with us and how they live our values, and hosting volunteer activities and the end-of-day happy hours.

We wanted this feel like a family photo album with a cabin theme. Approachable and fun with photos of our Ohana on the covers, inviting you in.

The year this book was created, our Real Estate team was working hard to create consistency across our offices and infusing a National Parks theme to our lobbies. This creation aligned with that and was a huge step forward from previous years efforts in terms of the amount of photo shoots we directed and design elements we infused.

“Becoming Salesforce” is our new-hire cultural immersion program, which every employee is required to attend within their first 90 days. It's a full-day experience featuring fireside chats with executives, values-focused breakout sessions, and volunteer projects in our local communities.

Interactive welcome events are designed to show new hires why Salesforce is one of the World’s Best Workplaces. We also introduce them to our core values, and show them how to put our values into action right away. Our employees participate in their first volunteer activity just a few hours into their first day and learn that businesses can be a platform for change.

I’m showing these designs because I find incredible importance in reflecting back from time to time to remember where I came from. I have sincere gratitude for everyone who has given me an opportunity along the way and helped me get to where I am today. This ties back to a personal ethos of mine “don’t forget your roots”.
